Have you ever wondered what would two geniuses of humanity do had they been alive today?

Well, Urban Fu$e thinks they would upgrade their skill to learn how to speak and sing Vietnamese hip hop/rap mind you, and be great actors. So wild, right? Who would have thought that LOL

In their latest music video, TikTok Rollie Official Viet Mix, the audience will experience the upgraded 21st Century version of Leonardo Da Vinci and Beethoven thanks to Artificial Intelligence AKA AI and Deep Learning.

In this blog today, we want to share with you how these two paintings ended up in the movie itself.

TikTok Rollie is a word play, which is essential in hip hop rap genre.

TikTok Rollie means contradictions. A Rolex doesn't make tick tock sounds like a quart watch. Thus, TikTok Rollie means a fake Rolex. But because we use the spelling of the social app in our song title, TikTok, to mean tick tock, the title itself also has the second meaning: showing off a Rolex on TikTok. Third, the title also means Inside versus Outside as the tick tock sound comes from the inner machinery of the watch whereas the Rolex is just a luxurious brand name that people see and know. Lastly, the song title refers to another contradiction: new versus old. TikTok, the social app, is a new creation while Rolex has been around for many decades.

Since the title has many meanings, we've decided to develop several plots and sub-plots concurrently in this video. As such, the audience shall find various objects that contradict one another in the movie. For example, an ice ballerina sculpture standing next to sexy and hot twerk dancers. A picture of the Cancan dancer on the wall versus the scene of twerk dancers in and around the water. Being inside a dream versus being awaken, land versus water, rapper dressed as Da Vinci performs the song with zero facial movements, expressions and emotion while Da Vinci in a painting dead several hundred years ago is now alive and has total control of his facial movement (again thanks to AI and deep learning technology), conscious versus unconscious just to name a few contradictions found in this movie etc....

From the outside someone can look like a Rollie, very smooth, handsome, very educated (as shown in the video with paintings of Da Vinci and Beethoven and statue of Marcus Aurelius at various locations inside his house) but the machinery inside doesn't reflect the corresponding outside image (as shown by the actions taken by the male character throughout the movie with him being a gangster boss, a violent gambler, has no regard for traffic laws by illegal street car racing, having three girlfriends concurrently, a narcissistic person). Lucky for him though he finally got a revelation. But will we have the same revelation about who we truly are?

The challenge was to choose which image of Da Vinci and Beethoven to feature in the movie. After many days of researching and searching the internet, she finally found the above picture on a Russian website. If you are familiar with the work of Da Vinci you know the above painting is not as popular as the Mona Lisa or the Last Supper. This is actually a self-portrait of Da Vinci when he was younger. The look on his face in this painting is much more cheerful, and optimistic than other images you'll find on the internet, which is very important for this project. Until today, after two attempts sending an email to the Russian website owner for permission to use the image in the video, she's not able to establish any communication. It also appears the painting is not as widely distributed and known around the world because if one were to google search Da Vinci's self-portrait the above painting will not likely to show up as often as other images.

Beethoven's self-portrait image, on the other hand, didn't take as much time because obviously it's all over the internet. One only needs to put in the search terms and will get back millions of hit, which pegs the question why modern humans know less about Da Vinci.

Everyone would agree that Da Vinci is probably the only human ever existed back in the 15th-16th Century who could predict somewhat accurately what the future would look like in about 500 years. In his notebooks he already conceptualized the flying machine AKA modern day airplane, parachute, sliding friction. He studied human anatomy and human body drawing a human fetus inside the womb in one of his notebooks which were never published way way before modern science knew how a human fetus looked like inside the womb making him way more ahead of his time. Da Vinci has contributed not only to the art but also science, anatomy, physiology, engineering, etc...Needless to say, he has left a remarkable legacy to humanity several hundred years before we even know what these could do. What is the significance of all this when he's featured inside a music video with a very complicated plot and sub-plots? The long and short of it is that if anyone wants to leave a great legacy after they die they would probably want to emulate Da Vinci because he already set a precedent.

Growing up Suzanna had always been reminded that she ought to specialize in one thing and one thing only. As a matter of fact, the conventional wisdom in America is that one would NOT want to be a "Jack of all trades and a master of none". That saying has permeated throughout the modern day America and possibly humanity that nowadays it's very hard to find someone like Da Vinci. She often wonders though if history can produce one Da Vinci, what stops it from producing a 2nd one? Obviously, Beethoven was just as talented in the art and creative field but he himself was not a Jack of all trades like Da Vinci. Beethoven lived in the 19th Century, which is 300 years after Da Vinci passed so she couldn't help but wonder if Beethoven had ever heard or read about Da Vinci at all? What would happen if both men met or be in the same space? That would be an interesting encounter, don't you think? What would the two men say to the modern day humans?

In order to answer those hypothetical questions, one must put both men inside a movie and let the imagination run wild, the result of which is the TikTok Rollie Music Video.

In this movie, both men take on a role of a reporter, reporting what goes on inside the house of "thought" of an unidentifed male character in which they reside inside their own self-portrait paintings. Through this reporting, the audience would understand the main male character has a certain lifestyle which seems to contradict to what these two men had lived. The two men never said they disapprove this kind of lifestyle, that's not their job. Their job is to observe and report. But the lesson here for us audience is that how often we hang pictures of the people we love (mom, dad, kids) or admire (Jesus, Budda) in our houses and yet we are not aware that perhaps they also observe and "report" our daily behavior and thought as well? Yeah, we know it sounds pretty spooky but just the thought of that does make you think twice before you act a certain way, doesn't it? Maybe you're talking on the phone with your boyfriend behind your best friend's back about her bad habit while you're standing next to you grandma's picture. Well, no one besides you and your boyfriend know about this conversation, right? Wrong, your grandma also hears it. What would she think about you?

If the audience walks away from this movie and becomes more conscious about the pictures on the wall they have in their house, literally and figuratively speaking, therefore strive to be a better human being, Urban Fu$e has been successful in their quest of making an edutaining music video.

Dream Music Productions presents Urban Fu$e, an international collective based out of the U.S, with the release of their third album "DLW3" on September 22, 2021.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 28, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- This series is inspired by humanity's universal desires namely money, or Dough, Love and Winning, thus, the acronym DLW. In the context of the world's current COVID-19 pandemic, the album sees the collective examines their personal issues that are so universal that one often wonders if these are the same issues that each of us also face during difficult and challenging times in our lives.

Regardless of what your taste in music is, the mixed blend of contemporary trap and old school hip hop/rap, R&B, EDM, accented by traditional Vietnamese melodies will make you jump out of your seat and groove to it. Their music indeed reflects the world in which we all live, a fluid melting pot where humans' deepest connection is no longer limited by physical borders, skin colors or even our mother's tongue. Instead, we're connected by one common language that speaks our universal desires: music and the freedom to celebrate our similar life happiness.

This is the first hip hop/rap album featuring all Vietnamese traditional sounds in the entire 40 plus years of history of US hip hop/rap. While it is true the Vietnamese refugees who came to America for a new life in 1975 haven't contributed its sounds to the hip hop/rap world for the last 47 years, this is about to change as Urban Fu$e, a pioneer in creating new sounds for the genre, is placing the first building brick for others who love hip hop/rap as a genre to be inspired and continue to create. While the beats have Asian blended sounds, the artists are of African descent for a very specific reason. The collective hopes this album will alleviate Asian hate sentiment going on within the US since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as contribute to the US's national music treasure.

Urban Fu$e's music is like contemporary abstract art where interpretation is up to the listeners. They don't make music because they have a message. They make music because they believe artists from four continents can come together and create music to have a positive impact on the life of their fans and audience.

Urban Fu$e is a collaborative project between artists who have descent and origins different from the country where they all live, which is the United States. This mix of different cultural elements, provides a sound that mixes elements of Rap, Hip-Hop, Latin Music and French Rap, with an impressive and fun resourcefulness.

One of the greatest hits released by the group, “Avancer”, which turns 01 this September, gets numerous hits on Soundcloud. Check it out below:
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/67343772021-09-02T17:57:49-05:002022-08-24T07:59:45-05:00Urban Fu$e – Avancer
https://honkmagazine.com/urban-fue-avancer/

“Avancer” is a new release from Urban Fu$e. People come to music to be entertained. To hear engaging music that is an escape, or those high energy vibes that picks the day up, after a long day of work. No other genre delivers on this like Hip Hop. A genre known for it’s infamous swagger to it that the world loves. Urban Fu$e has that same swagger to him on his new song “Avancer”. This is my kind opinion.

Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/67217772021-08-19T18:15:15-05:002023-12-10T10:53:08-06:00Why don't Urban Fu$e sell a lot of merch?
So as we're approaching the 3rd anniversary of our birth in October, we thought it'd be a good time to share with our fans something that we've never written before in our articles. And that relates to the way we make money and how we can sustain our passion for music without breaking the bank.

First of all, all of us here at Urban Fu$e have a day job. The reason why we have a day job is because making music at this point doesn't pay the bills. As much as we are serious about making music a full-time career, our mission so far has been to use music to help the world. And just like anything else in life, when you do something you love to do, even if you don't get paid enough to do it, you still do it. You know what we mean?

So far, if you get to know us, you probably notice we have a sizable catalog of financial related songs written specifically for adults compared to any other artists out there in the world. While what we do is quite unconventional and requires a lot of convincing, we truly believe in our mission. Then again, when you truly believe what you do brings value to a lot of people, even when you don't get paid, you still do it, right?

When the pandemic hit in 2020, many artists started to really crank up their "donation" engine via many platforms to nicely suggest to their fans to support their musical creation financially. At some point, we almost went down that road. However, we decided NOT to. The reason for that decision is that we feel what we're doing and giving to the world is out of our kindness and invaluable. To really attach a price to it is like attaching a price to your baby, you know what we mean? However, on all streaming platforms and even on this website, we're forced to put a price on everything. There's no way around it.

Similarly, we also feel that if we were to sell a lot of merch on our website and various social media platforms it will then defeat our mission which is to help our fans understand the importance of saving money through our music. The other day when we cleaned out our closets, we counted almost 20 t-shirts and sweats that we have bought over the last 30 years that we rarely use. In America, we have an abundance of everything so we never think twice about spending that $20 for a new sweat or a new mug. However, if we were to take the same $20 and find a way to invest this money, over 30 years, this money could grow tremendously. This is the very topic we touched on in our song "Retire In Peace, RIP". The concept is compounding interest in case you're not sure what's in "Retire In Peace".

Final thought, as long as we live, we will continue to make music that serves humanity. Members of Urban Fu$e may come and go but Urban Fu$e is here to stay. That's a promise. It would be very nice if we make millions upon millions so we can use that to invest in better sounds, better equipments, better this and better that. But even if we don't make any profits, we still make music because the reason why we started to make music is because we want to impact the world in ways that no other artists have. We have a very narrow vision of what we will write about, which is SPEMF health, Spiritual, Physical, Emotional, Mental and Financial health. This extremely narrow focus helps us tremendously in our lives as we go about living our lives, working our day job, dealing with issues which arise every single day just like an average Joe or Jane out there. In the end, we, all the members of Urban Fu$e, are the beneficiaries of what we have created as well. And when all the beneficiaries of this type of music get together, we have a community of like-minded individuals who share the love of music on top of a love for living a fulfilled life. That's worth the sacrifice financially. That's how we feel. We may come across as too "altruistic" to some fans but we think it's important for our fans to understand where we come from. We would love to hear your thoughts?
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/63879092020-07-20T15:49:24-05:002024-03-28T00:51:02-05:00When Urban Fu$e Meets Financial Ed And Daily Struggles, The "Broke Blues" Hip Hop/rap International Collective Fights COVID-19 Like A "Ninja"
https://www.marketwatch.com/press-release/when-urban-fue-meets-financial-ed-and-daily-struggles-the-broke-blues-hip-hoprap-international-collective-fights-covid-19-like-a-ninja-2020-05-22

May 22, 2020 -Marketwatch.com -- This series is inspired by humanity's universal desires namely money, or Dough, Love and Winning, thus, the acronym DLW. In the context of the world's current COVID-19 pandemic, the album sees the collective examines their personal issues that are so universal that one often wonders if these are the same issues that each of us also face during difficult and challenging times in our lives.

Regardless of what your taste in music is, the mixed blend of contemporary and old school hip hop/rap, R&B, EDM, blues, Latin, music with English sprinkled with occasional French, Korean, Spanish and Vietnamese languages indeed reflects the world in which we all live, a fluid melting pot where humans' deepest connection is no longer limited by physical borders, skin colors or even our mother's tongue. Instead, we're connected by one common language that speaks our universal desires: music and the freedom to celebrate our similar happiness.

The album starts where Urban Fu$e left off in 2019 with a trap blues vibe track "Broke Blues", in observance of the nation's Financial Literacy month. Unlike prior years, almost all news in April this year was about COVID-19 and the stimulus checks. Coincidentally, "Broke Blues" has painted a dire picture of how broke an individual could be to reflect the reality where our national unemployment rate is expected to skyrocket to at least mid-teens by summer due to the pandemic. You'll find "someone" turns off the "power" and the artist has "no lights to see" inside the track. Whoever this entity is, it sure does have lots of power over the artist. Is that an individual who's broke or a country that's broke? The song is written with such witty word play that it could be interpreted either way.

In the third verse, Urban Fu$e collective needs to "decide between shoes 'n rice". In this case, other than their literal meaning, "shoes" represents the ability to move forward while "rice" means staying put. During difficult times, we always find ourselves in a difficult dilemma: maintain a status quo; keep the old ways of doing things, or change and adapt to the new environment. Which one does Urban Fu$e chose? One will find out the answer in the end but couldn't help but feel sorry for the guy because now not only he's broke, he's also got fired from his job making him broker.

Urban Fu$e then goes on to show us how one can get out from under. "First is a budget, no spending above it" or "can save hundreds, by cutting out costs, unneeded items can leave you at a loss". Something as simple as that is certainly unheard of in our materialistic society prior to the pandemic but now it's a new norm, not by choice but by necessity. All of a sudden, Americans including our government find ourselves becoming more conscious about what's essential and not essential.

Multiple meanings in a song is a common theme in the entire album. This is most evidenced in their lead track, "Ninja", released on April 24, which highlights the mysterious persona of what it means to be a ninja, a character that everyone knows: fierce, stealthy, and determined warriors who train their entire lives for combat. The song is written to revere the different heroes we see in our society. This could not be more relevant than in recent times where essential workers risk their lives daily for the greater good of society. In addition to fighting for survival, individuals are faced with daily struggles such as finances, poverty, and lack of opportunities. Or is the track about COVID-19, the virus acting like a ninja assassinating the vulnerable? Or is it both? The only way to get to the answer is to watch their music video and find out.

Urban Fu$e's music is like contemporary abstract art where interpretation is up to the listeners. They don't make music because they have a message. They make music because they believe artists from four continents can come together and create music to have a positive impact on the life of their fans and audience.
Do you ever get that feeling, when you’re listening to music and suddenly, it feels more like a wake-up call than an actual song?

Like you’ve been living in a bubble, somewhere off in your own mind and then you hear this killer intro and it’s just like nothing you’ve ever heard before?

That was exactly what I felt when I heard Urban Fu$e’s “Broke Blues”. I don’t remember how I came upon it, I just remember the sound blasting through my headphones and jolting me out of my sear. Like boy, I was not expecting that.

And it wasn’t just the novelty or the obvious surprise of a song starting playing out of the blue. It’s the same feeling each time I re-listen to it. This tune has such a classy blues intro that you think you’ve been transported to this whole other place, somewhere back in the 50s, when they still used to play it like that.

Not saying the tune is old, though, just that it puts you in mind of the glory days of blues music. A truly down and out tune that gets you thinking. About life, about luck, about hoping for a better day tomorrow.

As you can probably guess from the name, it’s a song about lacking money. Feeling down, like you don’t honestly know how you’re going to cover this month’s rent. It has a good message, too.

These people, these wonderfully talented and creative people over at Urban Fu$e wrote this song as part of a campaign to raise financial awareness and educate the people of Vietnam and Cameroon about finance, which is a pretty cool reason to write a song, I’d say.

‘URBAN FU$E’ drop a hot new ‘Trap Blues’ sound and vision on new single ‘Broke Blues’.

Their last one was pretty awesome, too. A song about the late great NBA giant Kobe Bryant, a track called “Scoreboard”, that came out just one day after Bryant’s untimely death. So yeah, you can definitely say Urban Fu$e like putting out music with a message.

But getting back to their latest release, part of their upcoming album, DLW2 (set to release at the beginning of June), what really gets me about “Broke Blues” is the ingenuity, the way it smoothly switches from that deep, classic blues rhythm and voice to a slick rap. It carries the same message, naturally. But I think the rap in the second part of the tune really brings the message home.

Urban Fu$e show their immense creative potential in the mixing of the song as well. A track that combines elements of dance music, blues, a little jazz maybe and some rap is definitely no ordinary piece, which is what makes it such a unique experience.

Really, do yourself a favour and go listen to “Broke Blues” right now.

It’s been a long time since I heard anything that even remotely compares with the guitar intro of Urban Fu$e’s ‘Broke Blues’. To be quite honest with you, I simply didn’t think they made them like that anymore. I didn’t think we’d ever see true blues musicians, but it turns out I was wrong.

Now, that solo alone is enough to turn you into a fan of this young music group, for the sheer quality of it. It’s proper, masterful guitar playing that unapologetically forces you to listen to what comes next. And you’re not disappointed there, either.

‘Broke Blues’, as you might’ve guessed, is a song about being down, about having nothing to your name. It’s about hard times, yet it makes the hard times sound interesting. Makes you think you can do it. And you know why?

Because if someone so down on his luck could come up with such a good tune, then surely, you can manage.

Something that strikes me as particularly creative about this track is that although the voice is pure blues, the sound itself couldn’t be further from it. There’s a low, unobtrusive pop beat going in the background. As most of Urban Fu$e’s songs, it bears the unmistakable dance undertones that have become their signature. It’s a blues tune, but it’s also more than a blues tune, if you see what I’m saying.

This becomes abundantly clear about halfway through, when the voice changes. From the gifted blues singer, we move on to this authentic rap, that continues to talk about the same financial hardships. Though the sound itself is clean, the tone is street, and this really helps to strengthen the whole ‘down and out’ message of the song.

Yet another fascinating aspect is that the song itself was written for a collab between Urban Fu$e and The Financial Awareness Foundation ("TFAF"), as part of the official Financial Awareness Month (March). It’s definitely an ambitious project, one that looks to highlight the importance of financial education in Cameroon and Vietnam, where some of the members of UF originally hail from.

Urban Fu$e are clearly a group of very talented musicians, but they’re also artists with great heart, which gives them an added bonus, in my book. They’ve been around for a few years now, amassing quite a following in that time, and lending their voice to a wide array of good causes.

In January of this year, they put out a song called ‘Scoreboard’, which paid a moving tribute to NBA great Kobe Bryant, and sought to help his fans in their grief.

They’re good people. And that, much like good musicians, is rare nowadays. Which makes me think they’ll go far, and makes me real excited for their new album, DLW2, coming this June.
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/62697742020-04-02T16:22:12-05:002022-04-26T12:30:40-05:00Urban Fuse “Broke Blues” Review by Lyrics and Threads

In this day and age, it’s rare to find artists who do what they do not for the money or the fame, but rather for the people. Sure, it’s silly to assume that the financial aspect plays no part in it. We all have to eat, after all, and there’s no greater joy than earning your dough doing something you like.

But it’s not a love of money that driver international music group Urban Fuse. It’s a love of people. A love of love, of community, of something bigger than themselves. This shines evident in every track they put out, be it a classic blues song, like their most recent ‘Broke Blues’, or a vicious, spit-in-your-eye rap like ‘Scoreboard’.

The group, consisting of songwriter Suzanna Lam, rappers NyuKyung, Fee-Z and other artists, like Micheal-P, FireFlow, Silver D and Yellow, seeks to connect with their audience over commonly shared hardships.

All too often, they take on ‘big’ subjects, like overcoming depression or financial struggle, which is what the track ‘Broke Blues’ is about. Indeed, a solo and a voice that would make BB King proud, ‘Broke Blues’ melts into rap in the second part, demonstrating the toughness and grit necessary to get over financial problems.

Like many of their songs, it offers hope to people who are right now feeling pretty hopeless, and we love that.

Not enough of that going ‘round, these days. Hope.

Another excellent tune is ‘Scoreboard’. Came out in January 2020, only a day after the sudden and tragic death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter. The song pays tribute to all the sacrifices and nerve it takes to be number one (which Bryant was). It once again inspires a certain grittiness in the listener, a determination to pull through, which is so, so necessary. Especially seeing as 2020 has been such a rough year for everyone.

Still, even in times of hardship and struggle, we try to look for the best and hope. For example, right this second, we’re looking forward to the month of June, when Urban Fuse’s EP is set to drop. Aside from ‘Scoreboard’ and ‘Broke Blues’, we’re eager to see what other surprises it’s got in store for us.

No doubt a very versatile bunch, Urban Fuse have managed in a year what others haven’t managed in a decades-long career. That is, create a genuine human connection with their public and break through major publications like BuzzFeed and The London Post.
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/62697722020-04-02T16:18:24-05:002022-07-29T09:33:51-05:00URBAN FU$E PRESENTS CLASSIC JAM 'BROKE BLUES' BY FLVR RADIO

In reviewing the latest music tracks, we’re constantly asking ourselves ‘why do people listen to music?’. What keeps them coming back and asking for more?

And when we hit upon a super-charged group like Urban Fuse, the answer automatically comes to us. People listen to music because they can relate to it. People want good songs that feel like talking to a friend who understands them, who’s been where they are, and UF’s music does exactly that.

With a wonderfully diverse background, spanning three continents between them, the eight members of Urban Fuse tackle it all – love, depression (and more importantly overcoming it), financial struggle. You name it, they’ve done it. And in such a diverse key, each time.

What we like about Urban Fuse is that they’re not simply a music group. They don’t use one ‘tried and tested’ method for all their songs, like so many so-called artists do today. Instead, they take advantage of each other’s unique set of skills and do a little of everything, so that you never quite know what the next track they drop is gonna be.

It can be a thoughtful, bluesy tune, like ‘Broke Blues’, or it can be a harsh, street rap, ‘like ‘Scoreboard’, both of them tracks off their upcoming EP, ‘DLW2’, set to drop in June of 2020.

‘Scoreboard’ is a moving tribute to late NBA great, Kobe Bryant, who sadly perished in January of this year. Looking to connect with their grieving fanbase, the members of Urban Fuse put out ‘Scoreboard’ the very next day after Kobe’s passing.

The tune unapologetically raps about being the best and showing everyone what you’re about, of the sacrifices and the toils of being number one. Indeed, a most fitting tribute to a legendary man.

‘Broke Blues’, on the other hand, comes out six weeks later, in a most interesting partnership with The Financial Awareness Foundation. It carries the dance beat that has become the staple of Urban Fuse music, but takes a complete U-turn from where ‘Scoreboard’ left us.

Where the first track is angry, raw rap music, ‘Broke Blues’ is, just as the name suggests, a blues track (with a really impressive guitar) that takes about being down on your luck financially and struggling to make ends’ meet – a condition all of us have sadly known. And one that, as emerging artists, Urban Fuse aren’t strangers to.

As we mentioned earlier, the two versatile songs are part of the band’s upcoming EP and they really make us wonder what that will bring? Will it be a dance hall tune? Will it be a jazzy classic or a hip hop track full of attitude and spit?

Well, only one way to find out, so get listening!
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/62677332020-03-31T17:40:40-05:002022-05-20T18:52:29-05:00[NEW MUSIC] URBAN FUSE -“BROKE BLUE”|@urbanfusemusic

URBAN FUSE DELIVERS THEIR NEW SINGLE “BROKE BLUES”

One thing that music should be about, if nothing else, is diversity. Because music is this mind-blowing thing that can make people from all over the world share in a feeling, in a dance, in something that is bigger than them. This concept is what first drew us to the musical group Urban Fuse. This international band of brothers, hails from Yaounde, Cameroon, Freeport, Bahamas, San Francisco Bay Area, California and Vietnam, and they’ve been putting out excellent music for two years now.

Tackling such an ambitious project with such an obviously diverse background is in itself a bold move. Differences are bound to crop up, but that hasn’t stopped Urban Fuse, it seems. On the contrary, they’ve taken their unique worlds and brought them together, creating something that everyone from everywhere can enjoy.

Put simply, Urban Fuse are not just another musical group. They are on a mission to do good. They still believe that music can unite, regardless of borders and social differences.

And this is exactly what their latest tracks, “Scoreboard” and “Broke Blues”, seek to prove to us. “Scoreboard”, quite evidently, is a moving tribute to one of the greatest tragedies 2020 had to offer us, that is, the passing of NBA legend Kobe Bryant. Urban Fuse put out the track the very next day after the news broke, reaching out to so many fans all over the world who were grieving.

‘Show ‘em what’s in store’, one of the voices raps. And though it’s meant as a tribute song, it is not sad, as such, and it doesn’t encourage one to wallow, but rather, works to remind everyone what Kobe was about, what he meant to so many of us and how we can remember him through his life, and not focus on his passing.

Their other single, “Broke Blues”, having come out only this month, is a clever nod to the month of financial awareness (April). The track opens with such an incredible, killer guitar solo and reminds you throughout of a classic blues tune from the days of yore. A truly down-and-out piece that hits you in the feels, especially if you’ve been struggling financially.

Both the tracks are part of the group’s upcoming EP, “DLW2”, which is set to come out in June 2020. They both offer a very compelling teaser for what’s to come, showcasing the incredible versatility of this musical group – so swiftly shifting from that gangsta rap sound of “Scoreboard” into the old-school blues vibe of “Broke Blues”. With that in mind, we are eagerly awaiting the month of June, and until then, we encourage you to listen to them on Soundcloud.
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/62587182020-03-22T23:54:18-05:002020-11-26T06:40:07-06:00COVID-19 and Broke Blues

http://bit.ly/BrokeBlues

It is no coincidence when Urban Fu$e dropped its highly acclaimed and anticipated track Broke Blues on March 2, 2020. Originally back in November when the track was done in production, the team thought it would be part of the 2nd EP DLW2 to be dropped on June 1, 2020. The sounds in Broke Blues represent an innovative approach to music making that Urban Fu$e has embraced since its inception but if we have to stack it against the other tracks inside DLW2 it really didn't stand out that much. As a matter of fact, one member said it sounded "funny" with trap and blues together in one sound.

So what changed? Two things:

A novel virus AKA COVID -19 AKA Coronavirus that has shaken the world to its core that started to make its way to America in January 2020.
Due to #1 above, we saw what's coming to Americans' pocket book. More and more American families will find themselves not having enough cash to pay for their next 6 month's rent and food due to their lack of savings and spending habits. What has worsen these habits is the over all social media culture of showing off and possessions which deeply is inter-woven with the trending hip hop/rap culture which encourages flashy spending and materialism to feed the bottom line of corporate America, which are mostly owned by not only a typical American worker's 401(k) but also by financially successful pension funds and the likes.

So Broke Blues was taken out of the EP to be dropped as a single to highlight the fact that how vulnerable we all are as Americans with #1 and #2 above as the pre-text a day after the news of a first man in Washington state passed away due to his COVID-19 infection on March 1, 2020.

Before that on January 27, 2020 Urban Fu$e also dropped another single "Scoreboard" in memories of Kobe Bryant's passing, also one day after the big news hit the world.

As the month of March is making its way into April, we here at Urban Fu$e have been working hard to reach out to all our current and future strategic partners (non-profits as well as for profits entities) so that we together can bring a very important message to the world at large. We are very fortunate to have been able to receive a tremendous support from one non-profit organization called The Financial Awareness Foundation ("TFAF") based out of Sonoma County, CA. Urban Fu$e is now an official Ambassador for TFAF to bring financial ed to the US, Cameroon and Vietnam.

In case you're wondering why this is a big deal for Urban Fu$e, well, it's a very big deal because April has been designated as the month of Financial Literacy Month in the entire country. In addition to April, May, September and October are also three very important months for us over at Urban Fu$e.

May is Mental Health Awareness month.

September is Life Insurance Awareness Month.

Lastly, October is Estate Planning month.

And yes, we at Urban F$e are very focused on serving humanity by bringing quality music and musical content to the world to serve the world and help those in needs. We realize not every one will like our music because music is very subjective. However, we do hope that our effort has an impact in the world, however small that is.

At the end of the day, Urban Fu$e artists do not make music so we can be rich and buy a lot of "stuff" to show off. All of us here at Urban Fu$e come to music because we all love music and we share the same vision of what the world would be like if we work toward the same worthwhile cause: changing the world through music.

As Congress, the White House, and the Senate and various state and local government units are working hard to "rescue" American families during this tough time by providing financial support to those in need, may we remind ourselves that government is not the only answer to our problems. We must practice financial discipline and be ready financially and mentally any time and anywhere. There's only so much money the government can print. There's only so much food can go around. This is the time for us to realize our lives can change dramatically within a week or less. The way we have prepared for this change has already started years or months ago even if you don't know it. It lies in the way you make your decision daily as to what to buy and what not to buy, what to invest and what not to invest, what to spend time on and not to spend time on etc...

May God bless America and give us the strength to weather the hurricane coming to us. May we listen to "Broke Blues" and know that a dark future is around the corner if we are not careful about the way we deal with money when we have plenty of it because we thought that rainy day will never come. Well, it's coming sooner than we have anticipated.
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/58910552019-09-13T14:04:44-05:002020-11-26T06:27:21-06:00STITCHED SOUND FEATURES URBAN FU$E
Urban Fu$e premiere their new track “2 Hearts, 1 Life”

POSTED ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2019 BY STITCHED SOUND

The members of Urban Fu$e hail from all over the world and are truly a reflection of diverse cultures and different approaches to music fused into one single sound. Spearheaded by founder, songwriter and producer Suzanna Lam, Urban Fu$e consists of the core rappers NyuKyung, Venom and Danny Riguez with the help of strong collaborations from artists like Micheal P. who hails from Africa. A strong dance beat is the hallmark of Urban Fu$e no matter the genre: hip hop/rap, dance hall, V-pop, Afro,Latin…. they do it all! Why do they call themselves Urban Fu$e? They chose the name because of the multicultural fusion of their music, but also because they consider themselves to be fuses: they will spark the musical revolution that is to come. The members of Urban Fu$e come from Yaounde, Cameroon, Lagos, Nigeria, Freeport, Bahamas, Nashville, Tennessee, San Francisco Bay Area, California, London, England and Vietnam. Their newest release comes in the form of the critically acclaimed EP “DLW1.” Three singles have seen their way into the spotlight this year- “Big,” “Runaway” and “Freedom,” and now with the new release in tow, the group are ready to take things to the next level. Today sees the release of their new single “2 Hearts, 1 Life”.

NyuKyung: “2 + 1 was inspired by a girl I like and I wanted to take a different approach in the track as a whole. The entire pop element is a different style for me and I really embraced it. It’s a good song to cheer someone up and perfect for the upcoming fall season!”. Rachael Bellis: “I’m lucky enough to have been in love and I have experienced the beautiful rush that comes from that. So I wanted to put it into a song”.

Throughout the course of 2019 the group has garnered critical acclaim from outlets like Buzzfeed, London Post, Vigilantes Radio, Hip Hop Illustrated and beyond. Their strong messages that carry throughout the tracks make them an unstoppable and noteworthy force. With messages about hope, conquering depression, overcoming obstacles, financial responsibilities and more, Urban Fu$e is far from your average music group. The band is a unique collection of artists because of what they stand for. Their passion about their music and message helps to take them to the next level. They believe in equality and have a polite way of explaining their feelings and their beliefs so that they get people thinking. Their lyrics describe real life events and real life issues. A lot of rappers in this time period really don’t use their talents for good purposes like they do. They take their career and lifestyle and use it to make a difference. Urban Fu$e has used their music to describe some of the hardest things we encounter in our lifetime and to convey that our struggles are often the same no matter where you come from. They do what they do not for the money, but to let everyone struggling know that they’re not alone. While other artists rap about getting money and often objectifying women, Urban Fu$e is out there rapping about real life events, real life pain and real life problems. This is what music was made for. They talk about reality and a universal message. With hundreds of thousands of streams on Spotify and SoundCloud combined, Urban Fu$e are quickly approaching the million play mark. “DLW1” is representative of a new era for Urban Fu$e and it will be very interesting to see where they continue to go.
Do you have a wealth building mindset?

by UF founder Suzanna Lam

I came to the US with just clothes on my back. Literally. I didn’t have anything other than clothes. I didn’t have a penny to my name. My mom didn’t have any money to her name, either. To survive in America, we had to borrow money from close family members to pay our monthly rent and buy food, with a promise to them that once I graduated from college, I would then pay it back.

The five of us lived in a one-bedroom apartment in the Tenderloin area of San Francisco. I still remember how much rent costed; it was $850/month. The place was infested with cockroaches and rats. Every time I walked to the kitchen and flipped on the light switch, I could see all those filthy animals scurrying away to avoid the lights. All of the money I made from working part-time as a cashier at a McDonald’s for $4.25 an hour was used to cover only part of the rent. My younger brother, 16 years old at the time, also had to work selling newspapers on the streets or freeway entrances where cars would stop at a red light before entering the freeway. He thought instead of standing there begging for money, maybe he could sell something to make him feel good about taking money from strangers.

My mom also held two jobs to scrap a few dollars together. Life was tough for us, very tough.

None of us knew any English because we were brand new immigrants from Vietnam. We had been told America was the land of opportunity. We could be somebody here; we could get anything we wanted here. “Yeah, what a pipe dream”, I thought every night. I blamed my mom for even bringing us here to this strange land. People looked at us like we were from a different planet. They would laugh at us when we tried to speak to them. The kids at school were rude to me and my siblings. How can America be the land of the opportunity when every month, coming up with enough money to pay for rent and food was the hardest thing we thought we ever did? I didn’t see any opportunity other than an opportunity to be so dirt poor. They should have called America “The land of the dirt poor opportunity”, I told myself and I told my mom. She looked at me with her gentle eyes and kept saying “don’t worry child, you go to school, you get that college degree in accounting, you help me pay off this debt we owe XX, you save money, you invest and your dream will come true”.

After thirty years of living in the promised land, looking back, I can proudly say that America, indeed, is the land of opportunity. However, it is a dream come true only if one knows where to look for the right information. In other words, there hasn’t been a book yet about how someone with nothing landing in America can live their dream of having everything he/she ever wanted. I’m not talking about just money. I’m talking about having and enjoying a life. I’m talking about to fully live knowing that nothing is impossible here in America, including the ability to have optimal health spiritually, physically, emotionally, mentally as well as financially AKA SPEMF. I call that wealth. I believe one will have wealth only if one’s five health mentioned above is at an optimal state. I wouldn’t call someone having billions of dollars wealthy if that person is not fulfilled in the other four areas of health.

First, allow me to address the financial part of health in this series. When it comes to wealth building, the process has been so mysterious and convoluted to many poor families, lower middle class, middle class American families (families making less than $100,000 a year in general depending on where you live in the US) that we, as a society, have several popular proverbs when we talk about money and finance. For example, the most common ones are ” it takes money to make money” and “the rich get richer, the poor become poorer”. But have you actually ever stopped for five minutes and really asked “are these money sayings true?”. I can assure you that none of it is true. As I said earlier, in this article, I will demystify the money myth to reveal to you how doable it is for anyone to start building a wealth mindset. I didn’t say “to have”, I said “to build”. I believe in order to achieve greatness in everything one wishes to have in life (it doesn’t limit to just money), one must first develop certain habits in life to form what I call “habit bricks” which are then used to build a great long lasting wealth pyramid like those in Egypt. The first habit, which I will explore in this article, is the habit of being curious, more specifically curious about money since we’re talking about money in this article.

Did anyone teach me that habit? No, I was never taught this. I just happened to be “lucky” enough to stumble upon it, dig a bit deeper and deeper until I couldn’t get out of the hole I dug myself into. I then had no choice but to get to know it, study it, make it a habit of mine at a very young age (younger than most of my peers who are until today still trying to figure it out).

About two weeks after I started my first job at a McDonald’s as I mentioned above, I got my first paycheck. I was ecstatic. That first paycheck meant the loan we owed XX was going to be smaller. I hated to borrow money from someone or ask money from someone. I opened the envelop my supervisor had just handed me after my four-hour shift. I already knew how much I would make. $170. Yup. For the last two weeks, I had looked forward to the day when I got my first check. I was going to go the bank to open my first checking account with that $170. Nothing could be worse to me at the time than when I saw a number less than $170 on the paycheck. How could it be? Did they just take my $50 and hide it somewhere?

Being a brand new immigrant and shy, I didn’t know enough English nor the nerve to ask my supervisor why my check was $50 less than what I was supposed to get. I didn’t want to confront her. I thought I’d go home and ask a few close family members to find out exactly what was going on here. Needless to say, when I showed them my paycheck, they laughed so hard that tears came out of their eyes. They said the missing $50 was for taxes. I was completely shocked. What taxes? I never heard of that before in my life. How come in my home economics class my teacher didn’t tell me there was something called taxes? We learned about cooking, but he never once mentioned that word “taxes”. No one at my school talked about taxes. My friends didn’t tell me there would be taxes taken out of my pay. Where did this tax come from and where did it go to? I knew where babies came from. But taxes? Impossible. This must be a mistake. I thought the idea of the government trying to take my $50 was the most ridiculous idea ever invented in America. In Vietnam, no one was paying taxes. If people had paid taxes, I would have known because I knew the ladies in my neighborhood had nothing to talk about but gossiping about bad things happening around them. “Well, if you never heard of the word taxes before it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, it just means you don’t know about it, child, welcome to America, everyone pays taxes here. ” So I was told.

“Everyone?”

“Yeah, everyone who works”

“So how would I know they’re not cheating me by taking my money and spending it on something I don’t know?”

“Ha, that’s what they do, sorry to tell you, no one knows 100% for sure where their tax money goes after it gets taken out of your paycheck. It’s kind of like magic, it’s gone, but what you can do is, every year, file your tax return. If the government says they owe you some money, you will get some of the money they took from you back in the form of a tax refund. If you owe them more taxes then you need to give them more money”

“Are you serious? How can it be a refund when it’s your own sweat and tears? It’s not like I mistakenly give them the money and now they’re returning it to me. They intentionally take my money, they’d better give me back my money plus interest.”

They all cracked up until they were on the floor. I looked at them, very puzzled. “Why laugh? Don’t they think this is a very serious matter that needs to be addressed immediately instead of laughing? “

At any rate, you can imagine how long that conversation went between me and them. It was long. I didn’t give up. I kept pushing for more information about this thing called “taxes” until no one in the family could answer any more of my questions. They all walked away leaving me alone with what seemed to me like millions of unanswered questions about taxes.

So for the next 8 years of my life, instead of spending time studying only accounting, I actually spent time studying this thing called “taxes”. I wanted to know everything about taxes, how it worked and why it worked. The first few years weren’t very productive for me because after school and work, I had very little time to spend on translating tax forms and tax instructions. Thirty years ago was very different. Today, here in California, almost all formal documents from the government have been translated into many different languages. You name it, they have it. Chinese version, Spanish version, Vietnamese version, Farsi version etc… Back then, I had to translate every word I read from English to Vietnamese. Not understanding English grammar didn’t help much as I was trying to translate perfect tense of a verb into something that sounded so ridiculous in Vietnamese. I came from a culture that didn’t have grammatical verb tenses by the way.

After many hours of translating tax forms and tax instructions I almost gave up because I didn’t understand what the government was trying to tell me. (I’m very sure many native English speakers who are reading this article can relate). However, after a few days of not doing the translation work I thought I couldn’t let the government win. I thought maybe they intentionally made it so obscured so that no one could understand. That for sure would ensure they would always win this game. Now it got more personal, me versus them. I wished someone from the government would come to my place and asked me at least if I was willing to give away my money from my paychecks and explain to me how the whole taxing system works. I’d like them to ask me if I was OK with the way the game was set up. I certainly was not OK because I didn’t understand what they were talking about.

That was the first step of my journey digging this hole called “taxes”. I completed my first tax return since I landed in the US in 1990 for tax year 1989. Mission accomplished. I got some of my money back, alright. Regardless, some of my money is still stuck in something called Social Security and Medicare until this day, 30 years after it was taken out from my first paycheck. I heard this Social Security thing could run out of money someday very soon because there are more people taking from it than the people putting into it. Simple math, right?

What’s the point of all this? First lesson in wealth building: having the habit of asking critical questions about money. It doesn’t matter how trivial your questions may seem. You ought to ask until you get to the bottom of it. In hindsight, I was actually addressing the most fundamental and important factor in a wealth building formula, taxes. As a matter of fact, all billionaires, multi-millionaires and other people with lots of money address their tax “problems” by forking over lots of money to pay their tax attorneys, tax CPA’s to come up with good and legal tax strategies to keep more of what they make. If you don’t believe me, ask Warren Buffet, President Trump or Former Presidents of the US. The poor and middle class people, on the other hand, avoid taxes by getting paid under the table, working for cash, keeping their cash under their mattresses, safe deposit box etc… . Furthermore, it is an open secret that the rich and the wealthy make lots of money moving their money around different tax baskets (more on this later in a different article) and live a luxurious lifestyle. Yet their tax bill, as a percentage of their total income, is usually far less than that of a regular average Joe’s family down the street. Hmm, it doesn’t seem fair.

In conclusion, having a habit of asking questions about money is the first brick one must have in their quest of building a wealth mindset. If a poor and broke Vietnamese immigrant without a penny was willing to invest 8 years of her life to learn about something she didn’t know, which was essential in wealth building, then anyone who has some patience and persistence can do it, too. So it really doesn’t take money to make money. I didn’t pay any tax CPA or tax attorney to help me with tax strategies to make more money on my money. I went and learned it myself. I do not want to sound arrogant but it’s very true, it’s my labor, all mine. Could it be that all it takes is curiosity and a desire to learn about money to make money? Maybe. Let’s explore more in the next article, shall we?
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/58859452019-09-09T14:26:29-05:002023-12-10T11:53:21-06:00HOOD ILLUSTRATED FEATURES URBAN FU$E

Urban Fu$e: Their Influence and Future

The members of Urban Fu$e hail from all over the world and are truly a reflection of diverse cultures and different approaches to music fused into one single sound. Spearheaded by founder, songwriter and producer Suzanna Lam, Urban Fu$e consists of the core rappers NyuKyung, Venom and Danny Riguez with the help of strong collaborations from artists like Micheal P. who hails from Africa.

A strong dance beat is the hallmark of Urban Fu$e no matter the genre: hip hop/rap, dance hall, V-pop, Afro,Latin.... they do it all! Why do they call themselves Urban Fu$e? They chose the name because of the multicultural fusion of their music, but also because they consider themselves to be fuses: they will spark the musical revolution that is to come.

The members of Urban Fu$e come from Yaounde, Cameroon, Lagos, Nigeria; Freeport, Bahamas; Nashville, Tennessee; San Francisco Bay Area, California; London, England and Vietnam.

Their newest release comes in the form of the critically acclaimed EP “DLW1.” Three singles have seen their way into the spotlight this year; "Big," "Runaway" and "Freedom," and now with the new release in tow, the group are ready to take things to the next level.

Urban Fu$e is a unique collection of artists, because of what they stand for; their passion about their music and message, helps to take them to the next level.

Urban Fu$e believes in equality, and has a polite way of explaining their feelings and their beliefs so that they get people thinking. Their lyrics describe real life events and real life issues. A lot of rappers in this time period really don’t use their talents for good purposes like they do. That’s just the thing, too. They take their career and lifestyle, and use it to make a difference.

We had the opportunity to catch up with founder of the group, Suzanna Lam, for an intriguing and insightful interview below.

This year saw the release of DLW1 with the second half coming our way this Fall. In your experience, is the second segment a continuation of the first, or is it a whole new story on the upcoming release?

Yes it is a continuation of DLW1 AKA first segment. So needless to say, the second segment is called DLW2.

What is the story behind the "DLW" in the title? And what was the inspiration for it?

Our theory is that human’s entire length here on earth is to do three things:
1. make money AKA Doe
2. Make love And lots of it AKA Loves
3. Grab power AKA Winning

This theory is up for debate. We feel the DLW series is a step closer to our vision and mission. Our vision is to create music to inspire listeners to strive for a fulfilled life. Our mission is to facilitate the desire for learning through our music. Urban Fu$e is the child of a loving relationship of two parents: contemporary music industry and personal development/self help industry. It is really a dream come true. Our group leader, Suzanna Lam, was looking for good music with empowering contents so she could learn something new daily to help her improve various areas of her life. It is also worth mentioning that one of the ways she learned was to listen to audio books on the topics of money, leadership, self help. A few years ago, while on a family road trip down to Southern California she noticed how her audio books sounded very good and almost on beat with the background game music coming out of her son’s portable game console in the back of the car. That was when the idea of creating music with great contents was born. After looking for the kind of music that would serve her needs without much success she came to the conclusion that only her can create what she was looking for.

Urban Fu$e strives to bring many messages into the world, which is rare in modern day hip hop. When writing the songs for the record, who do you think of the elements (ie finance) that you want to convey in the tracks?

We think of potential beneficiaries or listeners of our music and how they can benefit from the three minutes they spend with Urban Fu$e. We really want our listeners and audience to feel refreshed, surprised, curious at the end of the three minutes. We believe curiosity will cause us to inquire more, ask more questions and find answers to these questions. Our hope is our track will ignite a desire in our listeners to google a term he/she may not understand and start learning at his/her own pace. This could be a bit pre mature but in a very near future Urban Fu$e will partner up with organizations which can actually help further our listeners’ thirst for knowledge in various areas of health.

Who are the current key members of Urban Fu$e and what are there roles?

Urban Fu$e is a young group. We are only 10 months old at the end of August 2019. Just like any young group, our members are still trying to create a culture that distinctively belongs to Urban Fu$e. We evolve every single day. One member is here today may not be around tomorrow. Regardless, the core members are Micheal P, from Cameroon, Dre Nathan, from Nigeria, James Pak, from Canada, Rachael Bellis, from the UK.

As a collective, how did Urban Fu$e come together? How did you seek out the artists that you wanted to collaborate with and bring your vision to life?

Suzanna made it happen. She knew artists around the world needed an opportunity to shine. She also knows big things can’t be built by one single artist. So it seems to make sense to get like minded artists, who understand the power of team work, together and start building something bigger than we are. Because of this, Urban Fu$e seeks out new artists who see themselves being part of a bigger group doing bigger and more meaningful things in life using music as a vehicle to achieve that vision. It’s the Law of Attraction. We have been asked to collaborate on tracks but we are quite careful in that regards because we really would like to have artists whose life style is an inspiration for our audience because eventually our fans will want to get to know each individual member of UF. In other words, it would be hypocritical for Urban Fu$e members to be singing about saving money when we are not a good example of what we sing about. Likewise it would look funny if we sing about taking individual responsibilities when the members blame each other. Hope this makes sense LOL. All we want is create a community of music lovers who share the same musical taste, vision and mission.

When people listen to Urban Fu$e's music, what is the key thing or message that you want them to walk away with?

First and foremost we want them just to enjoy the music or the melody. And if the music is infectious enough for them to hit the “repeat” or “save” or “share” button then we would love for them to learn the meaning of the word(s) and/or topic in the track. Last but not least, we want our audience to know the three minutes they spend with us is not wasted. They actually learn something of value. We believe that once time is gone it is gone forever, no one can get it back. Thus, it seems to make sense that if Urban Fu$e takes three minutes of your time we want you to feel you at least get something that can help you in at least one out of five areas of life: spiritual, physical, emotional, mental and financial health AKA SPEMF health.
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/58859392019-09-09T14:06:16-05:002022-06-01T20:36:23-05:00KURRENT MUSIC FEATURES URBAN FU$E
GETTING THE BIG LOWDOWN WITH URBAN FU$E

Urban Fu$e has quickly become one of the most sought after acts in the current music world. Their hot new EP comes in the form of "DLW1," with the second coming later this Fall. Their songs are filled with inspiration that comes from both the mind and the heart, as it track sets an example for like minded listeners. Their latest video for "BIG" sees the group breaking out in a major way, as they climb the top of the musical ladder. We had a chance to catch up with lyricist and vocalist NyuKyung from the group, in which he dives a bit deeper into the process of Urban Fu$e.

1. What is the inspiration behind the video for BIG, and how does the video relate to the track itself?

- The video was created to highlight the story of the song. Many of the scenes I am present in involve me looking around and reminiscing on my past. The video really highlights the success story mentioned in the song and gives a nice visual depiction for the audience.

2. What made you discover your passion for creating an eclectic blend of your own sound?

- The ultimate goal for Urban Fu$e is to educate people using music. We want to be able to help families become financially secure while providing them thenecessary tools for success. However, in order to do this, we must be currentwith our sound and be able to create music that all people would enjoy. We have a very versatile roster so the different sounds come naturally.

3. What places in your mind do you channel to craft your songs?

- Personally, I try to go back to any experiences/emotions I may have when itcomes to writing about a certain topic. For example, with the song BIG, I thought about how much I wanted to be able to repay my mom for all her hard work and dedication. This allowed me to deliver the song with emotion and authenticity.

4. NyuKyung- What are your favorite venues to perform at? and if you had to choose, do you feel more comfortable in the studio or onstage, and why?

- I love to perform I open mic settings and outdoor venues. Right now, I amdefinitely more comfortable in the studio because I can be alone and take mytime with the thoughts running around in my head. I find it very therapeutic.

5. How do you create your songs? What is the process like? Does it take you days, weeks, even longer? How does the perfect piece come together?

- Every song is different as far as how much time it takes to create. However, Ialways start with either a melody or beat. From there, I write my thoughts downon paper and organize everything accordingly into a song. The perfect piececomes together when my heart is into creating the piece. It’s one thing to justwrite music and another to be able to pour your soul out onto a track.

6. How did you create a sound throughout time that is so uniquely yourown? What defines your sound to you?

- I just love listening to music and my sound is a culmination of all my favorite artists. I never tried to imitate one artist. I just create what I think sounds good and eventually it became a style I could call my own.
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/58671162019-08-23T09:25:00-05:002020-11-26T00:30:17-06:00HOOD ILLUSTRATED FEATURES URBAN FU$E

Urban Fu$e Premiere Epic New Video for "BIG"

Urban Fu$e is in the prowl today with their new video for “BIG.” The International group who has been making a “big” splash this year have been garnering the praise of fans and critics alike. The track is taken from their newest release “DLW1” which hit the streets in late Spring. The song features UG rapper NyuKyung on the mic which lures our ears in from start to finish.

NyuKyung shares of the track:

“BIG is the first song I ever helped create being apart of Urban Fu$e and is one of my personal favorites from our latest EP. Being a college student I realized not many schools teach about personal finance and ways to save for retirement so making an entire song about the topic was difficult. However, Suzanna who is the founder, helped guide me along the way and answered any questions I had. The song highlights the story of an individual who goes through the different stages of life. The song covers everything from the struggle to the success of the individual. This isn’t like any other song about the “come up” as it actually mentions specific tactics and financial strategies that were used to achieve success by the individual. The goal of the song is to educate people on how to save their money properly in order to be financially secure for the future. Too many people talk about success without the intent of helping others. We at Urban Fu$e want to change that and help educate families about finance throughout the entire world. “BIG” is the first of many tracks to come in our financial literacy campaign.”

Founder, songwriter and producer Suzanna Lam also shared with us some insights on the track and video:

Two inspirations for the song:

“The song “BIG” was inspired from a trip I took several years ago to a town called Hershey in Pennsylvania. After reading the history of Mr. Hershey's life at the Hershey Story museum I was so impressed that I told myself someday I would write a song about how I would like to do something like Mr. Hershey, which was to create something that people would feel good about using; and to use that profit to help communities and the people inside them. Some one told me a long time ago that "it takes the same amount of time to think about something, so you may as well think “BIG".

The result of what I saw at the museum and what I was told was the creation of the song BIG. Humans are creatures of habits. We usually think of habits as something that we DO daily that requires physical efforts such as waking up early to go to the gym, setting a time limit for computer game playing, eating healthy, etc... However, besides the physical doing, the doing of the mind is also very important. How many of us actually have a habit of THINKING BIG? We are afraid people will laugh at us for thinking not like any one else. If anything, our society has taught us to think and set goals that are SMART (Specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound). Imagine if Steve Jobs had thought about making a device according to this SMART formula. We wouldn't have got the Iphone today if that was the way he thought. No one ever thought that he could somehow get the executives over in music industry to buy into his idea of selling their music for 99 cents. No one thought that there would be a day when a small device that's smaller than the size of a teenager's hand could be so multi-functional that most people would find impossible to live without. His vision was faced with a lot of skepticism back in the early 2000's but he got it done. Truth be told, other phone companies followed Apple to design what Apple had pioneered in the first place.

The song “BIG” is written to cement the premise that will stand the test of time: Thinking “BIG” is actually a habit and it can start at a very young age, as shown in the beginning of the video where a young child already thought about how big he's going to become when he grew up figuratively and literally.
Urban Fu$e...Not Your Typical Hip Hop Outlet

Urban Fu$e has used their music to describe some of the hardest things we encounter in our lifetime. Our struggles are often the same no

matter where you come from. Urban Fu$e does what they do not for the money, but to let everyone struggling know that they’re not alone.

While other artists rap about getting money and often objectifying women, Urban Fu$e is out there rapping about REAL LIFE EVENTS, real life pain, and real life problems.

Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/58177072019-07-08T15:36:31-05:002022-05-28T08:27:20-05:00LONDON TV FEATURES URBAN FU$E

We had an interview with them!

Thanks for your time today! How has 2019 been treating you? Musically, did you approach this year any differently than you guys did last year?

Suzanna Lam: 2019 has been going so well for us. Urban Fu$e is going to continue to create more songs with a sole purpose in mind which is to inspire everyone to be the best they can be and learn some good practical knowledge helping them live a fulfilled life in the following areas of health: SPEMF or Spiritual, Physical, Emotional, Mental and Financial as we travel on our musical journey.

Nyu Kyung: Well personally this is the first year I started promoting music and taking things seriously. In the last 5 months I have won multiple big contests such as the one hosted annually by Anno Domini which had over 2000 entries. I’ve also started working with a label based out of Houston, Texas called UrbaNomyx which has helped me tremendously. In addition to my solo career going well, I was able to get connected with Urban Fu$e which has been a blessing for my career as well. I now have a worldwide platform to showcase my talents and help impact individuals by educating them through music.

Micheal-P: 2019 has been a wonderful year, full of surprises. For me it was the year of my Spiritual, physical ,emotional, mental and financial independence. Musically, 2019 has been a year of total change in my way of writing songs. I remember previous year before I was doing music only for myself but now I’ve found my way and now I’m doing music so my music reaches everyone and help them go to a better place. That change in my mindset happened because of Suzanna and the team. I’m just grateful for an opportunity to be better as an artist and that Suzanna didn’t judge me and my prior writing prior to asking me to collaborate with Urban Fu$e.

Where does this interview find you today? Is there music playing in the background? If so, what is it? What kind of music do you listen to when you are working? What music gets you instantly out of a bad mood?

Micheal-P: Sitting at home and listening to Micheal Jackson’s songs. They always get me out of a bad mood and also make me feel better before doing a project.

Suzanna Lam: I’m sitting in a car in between appointments. And no there is no music in the background. To get myself out of a bad mood, which I don’t have often because I don’t have enough time to do that LOL, is to listen to Urban Fu$e’s songs and remind myself, wow Suzanna, you’re very lucky to be able to hear and make music like this when there are people in the world who are blind, deaf, are not given the opportunity to hear and see the beauty of music like you are.

Nyu Kyung: I am currently sitting in my bed listening to Tech N9ne trying to come up with different ideas for new songs. I am constantly trying to improve my craft by listening to artists I look up to. I really enjoy music where the artist is open about their feelings as it reminds me that the struggles I go through as an artist are shared universally.

Growing up, have you always wanted to be a musician? Can you recall your earliest musical memory?

Micheal-P: I wanted to be a musician since I was 7 years old. I grew up in a Christian family where I used to sing live choir at our church. I knew I would end up pursuing singing as a career but just didn’t know when exactly. So I just kept on doing what I loved to do then when Suzanna and Urban Fu$e came along I just grab the opportunity.

Suzanna Lam: My earliest musical memory was when I was very young maybe 5-6 years old, I told my mom I wanted to be on National TV to sing because I thought that was very cool. I was more curious about ways to get myself inside that TV physically so my image can appear on the TV screen than to do the actual act of singing. I was not encouraged to pursue singing as a career. Life’s busy so I forgot about that dream until it came back again last year. One day late May last year I decided I could learn how to write music professionally and be involved in music in some kind of capacity. And so here I am today, a year later.

Nyu Kyung: I have been making music since I was 9 years old so I always knew that it would play some part in my life. However, I didn’t realize it would be my career choice as I originally wanted to play professional football.

If you weren’t a musician today, what else could you see yourself doing?

Micheal-P: Actually I’m a computer scientist and if I weren’t a musician today I could see myself being a famer because I’d love to bring more food and water to help communities around the world.

Suzanna Lam: I don’t see myself doing anything else that has no music as part of any deal now that I’ve gone through the tranformation process in the past 12 months . I’ve found a way to incorporate music in everything I do because I don’t believe separating the things I love to do in different baskets, you know, that just doesn’t make any sense because they all make me the person I am today. My interests lie in numbers as in tax and financial consulting and in being a life, career, John Maxwell leadership coach all of which are sitting nicely under this umbrella called music creation. I think I’m very blessed to be able to create a job for myself that doesn’t fit the norm. I don’t think anyone can give me this kind of job out there that can accommodate me like that LOL, I had to go and create it myself. LOL.

Nyu Kyung: If I wasn’t a musician today, I would probably still be pursuing a pro career in football.

I always like to ask artists about where they came from and how that city or town has influenced them as an artist now. So how do you think your home of Silicon Valley has affected who you are as a musician and the art that you create? Do you ever get to travel to Vietnam where you have family roots?

Suzanna Lam: absolutely. Silicon Valley is a very diversed place. Since I’ve had experienced first hand how diversity can actually help me become a better human being by opening my mind to different opinions and ideas it became very natural for me to found Urban Fu$e as an international music group. It wasn’t something I hesitated over a long period of time. I love the idea of different artists from different ethnic groups, social economic backgrounds come together and despite their differences can work through the challenges and find a middle ground to create something meaningful together for future generations. I really believe in my heart that Urban Fu$e will be the most diversed music group in the world to ever create a platform owned by the artists themselves to show case their undiscovered talents by collaborating with, working alongside, helping with, one another just like a sport team. I know the idea seems a bit weird. Yes, I’ve visited Vietnam twice for the past 12 months.

Let’s talk about your newest single called “Freedom”. Where did the inspiration for this track come from?

Micheal-P: The inspiration of Freedom comes from the great desire to help people, to inspire them to know who they are and as a result, people will enjoy the benefits of living a purposeful life.

Suzanna Lam: my role in this track is really being a music director and create a set up for the song such that our message to the world is very effective which is to focus on the positive instead of the negative in our lives. This was done through a creative approach to using the ordering of three different languages in the song, first being French, followed by Vietnamese an book ended by English. In other words, we want to tell a historical fact in which Vietnam was sandwiched between the French colonizer and American idealism in the Vietnam War where countless Vietnamese and Americans died. That structure in itself represents an oppression that the Vietnamese people tried many years to get rid of. But instead of writing and singing about an oppressed situation, we chose a more subtle way to show it and instead sing and rap about the positive of being free in the context of language diversity. The bottom line is this: in the face of adversity, if one focuses on the positives and ignore the negatives the positive will always prevail and it’s a conscious choice, takes a lot of effort and energy but everyone will get there.

Nyu Kyung: My verse was motivated by the everyday struggles of the people around me. I grew up in Tacoma, Washington which can be a dangerous place to live. As a result I witnessed a lot of different struggles from those around me and freedom is a culmination of everything I learned in the streets as well as school.

What was it like working with different talented people from around the world?

Micheal-P: Working with different talented and professional artists around the world has been very fantastic and very beneficial to me. It was a great challenge that I took in with my two hands. I was so happy to be collaborating with professional artists around the world writing and singing the same chorus of changing lives through our music.

Suzanna Lam: it’s a learning experience for me that’s for sure because not everyone thinks like Americans think. The way people from different parts of the world solve problems is also very different which is refreshing because they can point out my blind spots which I haven’t paid attention to before. I’m learning every single day from every single artist in the group.

Nyu Kyung: It has been a lot of fun and I can’t wait to continue and meet new people in this journey.

How do you think that being a musician has helped you live your best life? Can you talk about the joy that it brings you today?

Micheal-P: Yes I think that being a musician has helped me live my best life because I’m singing to inform, to educate, to sensibilise and to help people. So it gives me a lots of joy. It contributes to my goal of making everywhere a better place for everyone.

Nyu Kyung: I have always struggled trying to figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life and music brings me peace and security. I am able to use my art as a tool to help impact people’s lives positively.

Suzanna Lam: I believe that humans have a universal language that we haven’t really tapped into to make this world a better place, that’s music. We have had advancements, in technologies, to make things more convenient for us, in sciences, to cure all kind of diseases, go off into outer space, but the one thing we haven’t attempted to cure is the doubts, the greed, and the hatred etc…inside of us. I think we’ve focused so much on the outside that we have forgetton the inside. There are many things that move us, some of which are music and real life inspirational stories. I feel contemporary music is extremely being overlooked as a mean to communicate and educate around the world. Right now, it’s being used solely for the purpose of entertainment only, for you to have a good time at that moment. When it’s over, it’s over. It doesn’t reverberate beyond that time interval for many people. So every time I think about how the work of all the artists inside Urban Fu$e will spark the musical revolution in a way that’s never been done or attempted to be done before to solve the biggest humanity’s problem I really am in total joy. We at least attempt to do music with a purpose in mind beyond just entertainment. We really believe Urban Fu$e can be the next generation of Iphone back in the days when everyone else was using music like a Blackberry.

What are your plans for the rest of the summer?

Micheal-P: Many more international collaboration, writing and singing about SPEMF spiritual, physical, emotion, mental and financial health. Part of what we make as a profit is being used to finance some agricultural projects AKA UFAP (Urban Fu$e Agricultural Project) that will follow my goal of making everywhere a better place for everyone.

Nyu Kyung: I plan to continue making music for both my solo career and Urban Fu$e. I am planning for a Texas tour with UrbaNomyx and a potential world tour right after with Urban Fu$e.

Suzanna Lam: to continue to support the artists here inside Urban Fu$e, whether it’s a world tour, community outreach effort such as volunteering in local communities to teach etc.., and write and produce more songs, get new talents into the group etc..

Who are some of your very favorite artists or rather, what musicians have continued to inspire you and your music?

Nyu Kyung: My favorite artists are Logic, NF, Lil Zay Osama, Eminem, Joyner Lucas, Tory Lanez, Kid Milli, Dok2, Jin, Derek Minor and Dumfoundead. All of these artists have played a role in my sound and they all inspire me to continue working every day.

Micheal-P: Michael Jackson, 2Pac have continued to inspire me and I know their music will last forever because they do good music as I’m doing too.
–
What musicians would you absolutely love to work with in the future?

Micheal-P: I will be so happy to collaborate with all professional artists who have the same goal as me which is to positively change lives of people through our music but if I could turn the back time I will be very happy to collaborate with Michael Jackson because his sounds give me inspiration and hope.

Nyu Kyung: Anybody on the list I mentioned above would be amazing!

What do you hope is the message of your music? What do you hope people continue to take away from your songs?

Micheal-P: My hope is to help people stop focusing on the destructive history of the world and the undesirable elements that still remain. My hope is to help people focus on the aspects that will make everywhere a great and a better place for everyone. I believe my songs will help to move the world forward.

Nyu Kyung: Growing up without a father I had to outsource for my fatherly role models. I looked up to rappers, and professional athletes and the way they lived their life is how I wanted to live mine. I want to be a positive influence for people and show that anything is possible as long as you stay dedicated even when the vision becomes blurred. I want people to know that my music comes from a real and vulnerable place and that I am human just like they are. No amount of fame or money will ever change that.

Suzanna Lam: You know there’s more than one way to skin the cat so by looking at music as an outsider (after all I never worked in the industry before, rarely listen to contemporary music) we truly believe we’re able to contribute ideas that could help humanity move beyond our blind spots and just strive to better as an individual. In every song that we write, that’s always our intention, kinda like dance music with a pinch of education weaved into it. Last but not least, we’re looking forward to collaborating with all artists who believes music can actually solve our problems in the areas of SPEMF health so together we can add more value to the world than just creating music for entertainment only. After all, we’re looking forward to a day when all students instead of sitting down in a chair listening to a boring lecture will dance and happily sing along a song as though they’re in a club having a great time with their friends minus the alcohol of course LOL .

Urban Fu$e Unite Eclectic Palette of Musical Cultures, Watch Video for Freedom Now

Urban Fu$e is a group of creatives uniting from all over the world to create a unifying sound derived from an eclectic palette of musical cultures. How eclectic you ask?

Members of Urban Fu$e are located in Yaounde, Cameroon, Lago, Nigeria, The Bahamas, Nashville, San Francisco, London and Vietnam. Founded by songwriter, producer and creative director Suzanna Lam, the group’s EP DLW1 is currently available. Three singles have found their way into the ears, hearts and minds of listeners and taste makers across the planet with much more yet to come.

Whether exploring the styles of Afrobeat, Latin, Dance Hall, V-Pop, Hip Hop or anything else, Urban Fu$e found every track in a strong, danceable beat. You could say this is part of their signature sound.

Their name has a double meaning. The obvious being a fusion of cultures and styles. The not-so-obvious yet clever meaning represents the fact that each of its members are fuses; here to spark the {multi-cultural} musical revolution that is to come.

Freedom is the third single from Urban Fu$e’s DLW1 project and comes behind the release of two previous singles, Big and Runaway.

DLW1 is what you could call a sonic novel. Big and Runaway open the book, introduce the characters and lead us into the story line. Freedom is chapter 3 in the continuation of this unfolding story.

To catch you up on the storyline…and I will be very brief in my summary. Runaway introduces us to a heartbreaking story where our lead character has been dumped by his lover. While grieving, his Pre-K crush contacts him and lets him know she is there for him whenever he needs her. The moral of the story is love is blind.

Big helps us learn about our lead character. His poor upbringing, lack of guidance early in life, and his dream. The dream is be like Hershey, the guy who founded the chocolate company in Pennsylvania many many years ago. Not necessarily the chocolate part, but the success.

Freedom (premiering today) takes us deeper into the persona, thoughts and feelings of our lead character. We learn how he thinks about freedom, how he acknowledges that freedom has not existed in his bloodline for generations, and that he made his way into gang life as a way to find his own freedom. However, quickly learning that was a dead end path, he changed course.

Prepare for an amalgamation of sounds and musical styles you haven’t experienced before.

Urban Fu$E - DLW (EP)

Urban Fu$E is a group with a fresh sound that blurs the lines between the melodies of pop and the soothing feel of Urban. Recently, he set out to unleash a brand new single release - a project titled “DLW.”

These amazing songs have multiple layers that really add life and character to it. The beat is an absolute mastodon, with gigantic grooves, massive low-end and a crunchy top end that cuts right through the mix. The melodies are really well-arranged, blooming seamlessly around the rhythm and allowing the vocals to pop out at the forefront to the mix. As you might imagine, a great vocal performance is really at the core of greatness in this particular genre, and thankfully, Urban Fu$e does not fail to impress with their masterful delivery and dynamic lyrical flow. The songwriting on these tracks comes from a very personal place and feels very expressive. At the same time, it is also very catchy and easy to relate to - few artists can combine integrity and appeal so successfully, but it definitely feels like an easy task for Urban Fu$e, who performs with passion and vision.

Urban Fu$e Takes Center Stage With DLW

"DLW" is the new 9-song EP (out 5/24) from International group Urban Fu$e, which was founded by songwriter, producer and creative director, Suzanna Lam. Three singles have seen their way into the spotlight this year; "Big," "Runaway" and "Freedom," and now with the new release in tow, the group are ready to take things to the next level.

DLW1 starts out with a scene of a heart breaking story in which a guy is being dumped by his lover/girlfriend in Runaway. He's in pain, a whole lot of pain and also embarrassed. And while he's wailing in pain his pre-K crush tells him how she feels about him and reassures him she's there whenever he needs her but really love is blind (referring to her being blind for loving him and yet him not loving her back and also referring to the fact that he's blind not seeing his former love interest was cheating on him with another guy).

To get over his embarrassment of being dumped, he decides perhaps to leave town and pursue something that he always wanted to do in his life since he was very young, which is to be like Hershey, the founder of the mega successful chocolate manufacturer in the Pennsylvania, USA.

In Big, we learn how his childhood had been for him. He came from a very poor background not having any guidance in early years of his life. But Hershey's story inspired him to be somebody someday and be like Hershey. And while Big seems to be talking about him making it the reality is it's still a dream for him as he daydreamed of that success is going to look like some day. We further learn about how he thinks about life in Freedom. He has always thought about the poor conditions people around him have been living their lives and how their freedom including his have been taken away from them for many generations and his family tree hasn't really changed. All he wants is to have the freedom to be all that he can be. We also learn that he got into gangs in earlier years in his life and decided that that is not the route is going to continue down for the rest of his life.

As he's changing the course of his life, he understands the most important principle of winning in life is to keep his score and count his success, work hard with a team of people. In Scoreboard we learn that he actually has a group of people who are also committed to the same success as he is and they all play the same game (basketball is being used as an analogy in Scoreboard). But having a strong desire to win to have total freedom by working hard and keeping score will not get him far if he doesn't know how to handle his money and wealth well. Thus, in RIP (Retirement in Peace)he learns how to save his money and grow his money. Two important principles of money he learns is: compound interest and the tax man. In Big he already says he shies from any illegal so we know he's not trying to cheat the tax man. He's just saying tax planning should be in the equation of wealth building.

In the mean time, his Pre-K crush, also has the same dream about success. In Splurge, she talks about how she comes out of from being in debt (double seeing CC or Credit Card) to becoming a successful business woman by just being an entrepreneur and not rely on anyone, including the government to take care of her. He and she finally see eye to eye with one another in 2=1 where he realizes she's the one he wants to be with for the rest of his life because he can be like him without pretense and she's always there to support in whatever he does without judging him. So they get married and live happily ever after.

The last note he has for his audience is that all the things he has achieved in life, the financial success as well as his marriage is the result of him intentionally set to achieve those things. It wasn't just luck in No Luck. He has worked hard for it coming up in the entertainment industry, got recognition (wining the Grammy), be in partnership with his wife investing in real estate (her venture in Splurge) buying and selling hotels, never thinks about fame but just wants to be true to himself (being loyal to his own character) and helps to give back to the world (by building hospital in Big). He never does anything without a purpose. He's very focused in achieving his end goal.

To conclude the EP, he has a message for all of us. To be successful in life one must move forward and advance human race Avancer to the next level by achieving peace, joy and equality. Even in the face of life challenges and regressions while he travels the world and works around the world, with some bad people, with some good people, he never forgets where he came from and he keeps building on his only asset he has, knowledge, by expanding it. The moral of this EP is regardless of where you come from and how hard life has been to you, as long as you have the willingness to learn new thing and bend with life circumstances, you will be successful.

PREMIERE: Urban Fu$e Releases New Single “BIG”

Urban Fu$e is standing out above the rest with their new single “BIG,” out via all digital outlets today. The group who hail from all over the world share powerful and inspiring messages in each of their songs, that make them different from a majority of modern day Urban artists. Urban Fu$e is the brainchild of songwriter, arranger and composer, Suzanna Lam, who had a vision which has been elegantly brought to life. As she teams up with musicians from all over the world, the result is a sound that is truly captivating. With real messages in tow, Urban Fu$e quickly prove they are no one-hit wonder. This year saw them releasing several singles including “Freedom,” and “Runaway,” which have been garnering critical acclaim and worldwide recognition. Their new single “BIG,” also comes with a detailed story behind it, as each song comes together with a message.

Suzanna Lam states of the single:

There were three sources of inspiration for me to write Big. One came from my little five year-old son. Another one came from an Australian author who’s also a nurse by the name of Bronie Ware. She had noted that the patients whom she’d taken care of during the last 12 weeks of their lives (AKA hospice care) had many regrets in life, but the most common one was this “I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me”. Another inspiration was the life of Mr. Hershey, a story that I’d learned from visiting the Hershey’s Museum several years ago as part of a field trip I created for my daughter who was home-schooled.

So how did these three are connected? Well, these three are true stories, coming from real people, not made-up stories. But the significance of these three inspirations is this: regardless what century it is we live in, the formula for becoming somebody who can provide significant values in life will always be the same and when you live your life and dream everything will turn out to be much better than OK. When I think about the period in life that many of us truly live our lives it’s only for a few years between the ages of 3-6. For some kids that “innocence” could extend a few more years but no more than that. There are no pressures about “learning” anything, no need to worry about “money”, “promotion”, “recognition” “looking good” “looking beautiful” and what have you. All kids dream big. They dream to be superhero possessing some kind of special power like flying, create something out of nothing as in making magic. Not only that, they talk big all the time and they will tell you with certainty they’re going to do.

Then as kids grow up, others expect them to do something different than what they want to do previously. Maybe society wants them to have very very good grades, go to the best college, like an Ivy League, be beautiful, be popular, be attractive, be this and be that. And in exchange for all these things that they “do well” they’d be rewarded with money, recognition (in the internet age, that translate to “likes”, what have you. So they keep doing the things that are not really them so they can make more money, get more rewards, more recognition etc… Then at the end of their lives, they’d regret that they haven’t actually lived the life they used to dream about when they were 3-6 years old.

“Big” is structured in three different sections to tell a story of how a person can actually learn how to win big in life, from being nobody to somebody. There’s a beginning where to win big, one must dream. The protagonist dreams of being someone big like Hershey, the founder of the chocolate candy empire in America. However, he just doesn’t dream whenever he has time. He actually is committed to visualizing the dream every day for 3 hours, from noon to three. He’s so committed to winning big that even when people keep putting him down he continues to dream big to a point of being a scarred dreamer (our definition of a scarred dreamer is someone who got a lot of criticism, lots of setbacks, but continues to get up and continue to dream without forgetting the dream).

But dreaming big alone is not enough. He actually has a certain attitudes that actually help him to be the person that he wants to be. First, he doesn’t get into trouble with the laws. Second, he has an intention, a purpose in life (I do it for my people) that’s bigger than who he is. Finally, his powerful desire to win (“I’m burning come and see the flames”, this phrase is inspired by Albert Eistein’s E=MC2 formula as this is the most powerful force that we can scientifically prove) along with positive attitudes are what make him a big winner.

Finally, in verse three, when he’s financially successful not only he’s taking care of his family but he also takes care of his community by building a hospital, which is what Hershey has done in reality. To end the message, the protagonist says “But I won’t ever change this is how I’m gonna live” which I feel is a very nice way to reinforce what Bronie Ware has written in her book. Most people regret not having that courage to live their lives. The protagonist has no regrets because he’s lived the life he wants to live, which is to be big and be somebody like Mr. Hershey.
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/57532362019-05-13T16:56:52-05:002020-11-26T01:00:02-06:00LONDON POST FEATURES URBAN FU$E

Why do they call themselves Urban Fu$e? They chose the name because of the multicultural fusion of their music, but also because they consider themselves to be fuses: they will spark the musical revolution that is to come.

The members of Urban Fu$e come from Yaounde, Cameroon, Lagos, Nigeria; Freeport, Bahamas; Nashville, Tennessee; San Francisco Bay Area, California; London, England and Vietnam

You’ve just released your new single “Freedom” – how has the reception been towards the new track?

Nyu-Kyung: The reception has been really positive. I know in my inner circle I didn’t know how people were going to respond to such a unique sounding track but it all turned out great. It’s awesome to see people from all different backgrounds unite through our new single “freedom”.

Micheal-P: The reception towards the new track is positive and it is following the goals for which the new single “Freedom” has been released. This single is released to bring a positive change in the mentalities of people so I believe this track is actually setting people free from their negative ways of thinking to positive ways of thinking and doing things.

What was the writing process like for the single Freedom?

Suzanna: It was very fun and refreshing putting the pieces together. We took a chance and experimented with the structure the way it’s laid out with French, Vietnamese and English verses in that order with Vietnamese being sandwiched between French and English to represent a true historical oppression. Even though we never use the actual word “oppression” in the song just by the virtue of the ordering of the languages it expresses the same idea. Overall, we’re just glad we finished the track and put it out there. I can’t think of any other medium that would allow us to communicate and paint a story about oppression, human differences, similarities by just using the ordering of the languages, the utilization of them and one same topic “Freedom” in all three verses to fully get our point across in less than 3 minutes. That’s just wow, it just blows me away that I got to work with such a talented group of artists.

Nyu-Kyung: I remember writing 3 different variations for my verse in freedom because I had so much I wanted to say. I eventually pieced together the best parts of each and came up with a final version. I wrote this verse in my college dorm room and I remember reciting the different versions to my friends for weeks trying to figure out the best version.

Micheal-P: I wrote the track first in Pidgin English then Suzanna told me it’s too violent so she and I rewrote it in English/American/English. I went into the studio, recorded the new lyrics, I thought I was done then a few weeks went by, heard nothing from Suzanna, then one day Suzanna texted me asking me to rewrite it but this time in French. I was like huh? why? She was like oh I was told you write great French. Apparently there’s another track I wrote in French, and she liked that one, too. So I rewrote the verse but this time in French, for Suzanna to listen to. She liked both versions, English and French. Then at the end she decided to use French instead of English. So yeah, I’m just glad that my ability as a bilingual performing artist could help bring out such an effective message on the topic of oppression and what freedom means to different people around the world. I’m surprised that I actually wrote the same song in 3 different languages, Pidgin English, English and French. That’s kinda cool. Although we only used the French verse but it’s still cool to see the kind of growth I had by just keep working at it and see what I can do. At times, it was tiring but it’s worth it to experiment new ways of telling our story. I feel like working in a high-tech start up, creating and experimenting.

How is it working with different artists from across the world?

Nyu-Kyung: it has been a lot of fun being able to learn about them as people. I couldn’t ask for a better situation and I’m truly thankful to be able to learn about other cultures while making music.

Micheal: It’s a great opportunity for me to be collaborating with professional artists from across the world. It is a great challenge that I welcome with two hands. I was so grateful for the opportunity to learn from Suzanna how to be positive so much that when I rewrote my verse I basically expressed that in it.

Do you often find that your music is a reflection of your past and growing up as well as the members? Is it important for you to write about your past within your music?

Nyu-Kyung: All of my music is based off my past experiences. I originally began writing music as an outlet for my emotions when I was 10 years old and that hasn’t changed. I’m a very reflective person so it is normal for me to look into my past for motivation when I write music.

Micheal: yes, I find that my music is the reflection of my past and it is also the key to my success as well as that of the members because I compose my music with positive attitude that I share with people for them to know the benefits of living a purposeful life and just think positively. It’s very empowering.

Is there going to be a music video for the new track? (We hope so)

Micheal: Everything is possible. Wwe hope to release a music video for this new track very soon and we invite you all to check this out and follow us to be aware of our new activities and to help us to make everywhere a better place.

Nyu-Kyung: Yes there is, I recently finished shooting my verse in Vancouver, Canada.

Who would you say your dream collaboration is?

Nyu-Kyung: My personal dream collaboration is with an artist who goes by Lil Zay Osama. We both speak about our personal experiences and emotions in our music and I think we could make some hits.

Micheal: As I also said before ; I dream to be collaborating with all professional artists having the same goals as me; which is making people know the benefits of living a purposeful life; hence making everywhere a better for everyone.

Are there any plans for a UK tour?

Nyu-Kyung: Yes we are talking about a world tour in October/November

Micheal: It may be possible for this year, we’re working toward it, so we invite you to listen and share our vision around the globe to make people in UK to come massively in case we plans for a tour in UK LOL.

Finally, what else can we expect from you in 2019?

Suzanna: we’re going to really champion the financial literacy campaign around the world by releasing our first hardcore financial song ever written in this new EP that we’re dropping in May LOL. Then after that our plan is to release an EP with just financial songs only some time later this year.

Nyu-Kyung: Personally you can expect a lot more music for my solo career as well as songs with Urban Fu$e. I don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.

Micheal: Many surprises for 2019 not only on the musical domain and more collaborations but also on physical projects that will help and educate people by showing and teaching them the benefits of living a purposeful life. Thanks to you, stay blessed and follow us to make everywhere we go a better place for everyone around the world.
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/57285162019-04-22T15:04:04-05:002019-04-22T15:06:50-05:00VENTS MAGAZINE FEATURES URBAN FU$E

URBAN FU$E RELEASES NEW SINGLE “RUNAWAY”

URBAN FU$E has quickly proven to be a mainstay in the music world. The International supergroup brings a flavorful new track to the table this week with their new single “Runaway,” which premiered on Aesthetic Magazine.

Listen “Runaway”

https://soundcloud.com/urbanfusemusic/run-away

Songwriter, director and producer Suzanna Lam gives a bit of insight behind the single, stating:

“I was inspired by a true story I saw on Youtube that happened back in the 60’s or 70’s in which a beautiful actress was caught cheating on her husband and caused quite a scandal, especially for the guy who was a well known songwriter in the entertainment industry. In the true story the guy (the husband) was broken hearted, cried, pleaded to her in public to come back to him with the kids and he would forgive her but she never did probably too embarrassed. There are well-known documented youth suicides as a result of social media bullies. The cause of suicide is due to embarrassment caused by these on line bullies.

We intentionally have a male vocalist on the track because we feel crying is a very natural process when someone is hurt physically and emotionally so it doesn’t matter if you’re a boy or a girl, you have the ability to cry and that’s OK, not a taboo as in “boys don’t cry” kind of attitude that most people believe. Hopefully through this song boys are more accepted to cry because it’s not healthy to hold things back inside and boys pretend to be strong.

Crying is just a way for the body to re-balance the chemicals in the body when it goes through an emotional shock so there is nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about it. That’s why we had female rapper coming on the track in verse 3 to tell him just that message.”

“Runaway,” is taken from Urban Fu$e’s upcoming EP, out Spring 2019.
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/57270332019-04-20T19:42:43-05:002021-07-27T00:40:49-05:00PLATINUM PROMO FEATURES URBAN FU$E
l

We intentionally have a male vocalist on the track because we feel crying is a very natural process when someone is hurt physically and emotionally so it doesn’t matter if you’re a boy or a girl, you have the ability to cry and that’s OK, not a taboo as in “boys don’t cry” kind of attitude that most people believe. Hopefully, through this song boys are more accepted to cry because it’s not healthy to hold things back inside and boys pretend to be strong.

Crying is just a way for the body to re-balance the chemicals in the body when it goes through an emotional shock so there is nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about it. That’s why we had female rapper coming on the track in verse three to tell him just that message.
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/57270322019-04-20T19:36:01-05:002022-05-18T10:47:18-05:00PLATINUM HITZ FEATURES URBAN FU$E

The Urban Fu$e Collective releases a new project, “Runaway”

The members of Urban Fu$e hail from all over the world and are truly a reflection of diverse cultures and different approaches to music fused into one single sound. A strong dance beat is the hallmark of UF no matter the genre: Hip Hop / Rap, Dance Hall, V-Pop, Afro, Latin, UF does it all!

Why do they call themselves Urban Fu$e?

They chose the name because of the multicultural fusion of their music, but also because they consider themselves to be fuses: they will spark the musical revolution that is to come. The members of Urban Fu$e come from Yaounde, Cameroon, Lagos, Nigeria; Freeport, Bahamas; Nashville, Tennessee; San Francisco Bay Area, California; London, England, and Vietnam. Their new single “Runaway,” is a breath of musical fresh air, as their intriguing sound is like no other on the scene.

Quote from Suzanna Lam, founder of Urban Fu$e:
“I was inspired by a true story I saw on Youtube that happened back in the ’60s or ’70s in which a beautiful actress was caught cheating on her husband and caused quite a scandal, especially for the guy who was a well-known songwriter in the entertainment industry.
Urban Fu$e Goes International...Literally!

Hot on our radar is international group Urban Fu$e who have been bringing down the house in a major way. The brainchild of songwriter and coordinator Suzanna Lam, she has assembled a strong force of musicians both male and female across the world. What ties the unique individuals together is their love and passion for music, as Lam brings a strong songwriting element to the group. One of our current favorites, Splurge, helps to show a piece of the artists and the Urban Fu$e name... one you will certainly remember. With an EP to drop this Spring they show no sign of slowing down; making them a standout in 2019.
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/56739812019-03-08T16:43:43-06:002019-03-08T16:43:43-06:00INDEPENDENT ARTIST BUZZ FEATURES URBAN FU$E

Indie 5-0: 5 Questions with Urban Fu$e

Urban Fu$e are a driven group that comes together from around the world. The brainchild of songwriter, director and producer Suzanna Lam, the artist collective brings an insightful and harmonious vision into the world. Each and every song penned, the group brings a distinct and harmonious message to the table. As the tracks are gorgeously and skillfully crafted, the spirit behind Urban Fu$e is most definitely one that will draw you in immediately. Their current hit single “Splurge,” is a welcoming song to all that listen, as they gain attention around the world. We had the distinct honor of catching up with Suzanna, alongside Micheal-P and Nyu-kyung before the weekend, as they explains the process behind Urban Fu$e, and how Lam helps keep it all together.

1. What is the inspiration behind your new single , and did you draw the piece from a personal place?

Suzanna: Our next single, Runaway, which will be dropped on 3/29 this year, is a heartbroken song. I was inspired by a true story I saw on Youtube that happened back in the 60’s or 70’s in which a beautiful actress was caught cheating on her husband and caused quite a scandal, especially for the guy. In that story the guy (the husband) was broken hearted, cried, pleaded her to come back to him with the kids and he would forgive her but she never did. So I wrote the song building on the idea that the protagonist wants to runaway because he’s so embarrassed that his love subject sees him cry after they broke up. We intentionally have a male vocalist on the track because we feel crying is a very natural process when someone is hurt physically and emotionally so it doesn’t matter if you’re a boy or a girl, you have the ability to cry and that’s OK, not a taboo as in “boys don’t cry” kinda attitude. As a matter of fact, crying is just a way for the body to rebalance the chemicals in the body when it goes through an emotional shock so there is nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about it. That’s why we had female rapper coming on the track to tell him just that toward the end of the song. OK now we spill too much beans on this song LOL.

2. When creating the track, how long did it take to accomplish from start to finish?

Suzanna: wow, I wrote this piece back in 2015 on my piano. I didn’t really think much about it until earlier last year 2018 when I started to make a commitment to make music my new found career. Since then, it has gone through numerous revisions at least 10 during 4 years. The actually instrumental arrangement of the track went through about 5-6 revisions. We tried all sorts of sounds and finally we settled on what you will hear as our pop mix. In addition to that, we also have a retro rock mix and American rock mix. Tell us what mix you like the best.

3. At what age did you realize that music is a career you wanted to pursue; what was your ‘ah-ha’ moment?

Nyu-Kyung: It was actually only last year when I realized that music was the career I wanted to pursue. I have been making music since I was 9 but only recently thought about making it a career. I dropped my first tape entitled “Resume” and it garnered some serious local buzz without any real promotion. That’s when I realized how much people really enjoyed my music and that is when I knew I was born to be an artist.

Micheal-P: in my early 20’s

Suzanna: it didn’t come to me until last year around April or May time frame. My ah-ha moment was after I attended a self-help seminar back in late 2017 when I learned I could actually create a new reality for myself if I wanted to. It took me a few months to actually rearrange my personal commitments before I could get started in music because I was finishing up my second book in the Millionaire Baby: Cracking the Wealth Code series and also I was right in the middle of a busy tax season.

4. Who are your musical inspirations; what artists inspired you to start your career and find your musical passion?

Nyu-Kyung: My musical inspirations are Michael Jackson, 2Pac, Biggie, and 50 Cent. These are the first artists I ever listened to and they were the reason why I started making music.Suzanna: Madona is actually my idol. I really like her “oldies in the 80’s. I read her biography when I was in college and always thought wow I wish I could be strong mentally and physically like her and become successful in a music career spanning several decades like her.

5. What other treats do you have in store for us This year? Can we expect videos or a new record?

We’re dropping another single on 4/12, a hiphop/rap genre track called Freedom. This track was actually written by a very talented artist in Cameroon, (Micheal-P), with collaboration of two other artists, one from Canada (Nyu-Kyung) and another (D of NKI) is from the US. We don’t want to spill the beans but you’ll be very surprised at the way we pacckage this track, probably the first of its kind in this genre. Followed this single is an EP of which Runaway and Freedom are part, which is to be released on May 24. And absolutely we’re continuing to release music videos for songs we feel warrant a music video to help with the visual.
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/56712982019-03-06T16:12:57-06:002020-11-26T08:00:34-06:00BUZZFEED FEATURES URBAN FU$E
Getting The Inside Scoop On Today's Hottest New Act, Urban Fu$e.
Let's take a trip around the world, shall we?

Urban Fu$e is an eclectic group of artists, whose locations range from around the world from the United States to Vietnam and beyond. Made up of several different talented vocalists and musicians, the collective which is spearheaded by songwriter Suzanna Lam, is truly a labor of love. The group's latest single "Splurge," has been garnering attention around the world with a strong message and presence in tow. One of the hottest new acts to emerge in the New Year, Urban Fu$e proves quickly that they have staying power and will rise above the rest. We had the chance to speak with the group, as they dive deep into the world of Urban Fu$e and beyond.

1.When you decide it’s time to make a new single or album, is it more exciting or stressful? I know that all of the members of the group are spread across the world, making it a unique collaboration.

It is very exciting learning how different cultures work. For example, we have a couple of members in Africa. Many people may not know this but the internet connection is a lot slower compared to that in America. Not only that, they also have power outage regularly requiring them to have a generator as a backup power source. To make the matter worse, the generator runs on gasoline and you guess it they also run out of gasoline. There were times when they had to stand in line for hours just to buy gas in the black market to power a generator so they can record and do stuff. The experience built us to be better as an international music team and to always remember to support one another regardless of the circumstance. We think, in a way, the hardship our fellow African musicians experience help us musicians here in America keep things in perspective. We often take things for granted here in America while many musicians with the same talents if not more on the other side of the earth struggle a great deal everyday to pursue their dreams of making music. We're very lucky to learn this from the get go at the very start of our group's existence because from this day onward it will only get better.

2. You write all of your own music; where do you draw inspiration from when you write songs and what’s your favorite part about the process?

Suzanna: I write from seeing hearing things around me. I tend to write more upbeat vibe. My fav part of writing a song is the rewriting. That's when I force myself to detach from what I had come up with and be courageous to get rid of "stuff" I thought was good but turns out to be "garbage".

Dre Nathan: I draw inspirations from Nature and things happening around me

Nyu-Kyung: I draw inspiration from my mood at the time. If I am happy I tend to look for more upbeat vibes and the lyrics and melodies flow from there. My favorite part about the process is the writing portion. I love coming up with new ideas and feel very accomplished when I finish the track

Micheal-P: from what I see , listen and observe every day. My favorite part about the process is when comes the time or the moment I transfer and develop what I have in my head as ideas or thoughts into speeches and writings.

3. What are your fondest musical memories? In your house? In your neighborhood or town?

Nyu-Kyung: My fondest musical memories include driving to sports practice, at times, an hour long drive, as a kid with my uncle listening to all kind of music and performing for my friends in high school.

Dre Nathan: Playing music in church as a kid and playing in the school band

Micheal-P: In my house, because I feel at peace in my house.

Suzanna: listening to my uncle playing the guitar and falling asleep on my bed wishing someday I could do something like he did. That's why I keep telling my kids "Mommy is living a dream" LOL.

4. How do you balance your music with other obligations in life? How does it get effected if so?

Micheal-P: I work 8 hours a day on a job as a computer scientist and the rest of my time I'm doing music because music is my life.

Dre Nathan: I have a schedule and I stick to it religiously, one thing does not affect another, although I look forward to a time when it would be only music

Nyu-Kyung: As a college athlete I learned the importance of time management at a very young age. When I want to make music I make sure to schedule it in even if that means making some sacrifices

Suzanna: To me everything is very fluid, nothing is set in stone. That flexibility to change like a chameleon depending on the situation has proven to me time and time again that there isn't a balance I should strive for in my life in whatever I do. I just want to be alive if it means my life is out of balance. And that's OK with me.

5. When writing songs for the group, do you already have in your mind what the song will sound like when it is finished? Or does it often surprise you with a little twist in and turns?

Dre Nathan: always have the idea of how I want the end product to sound like, but at the same time, I keep an open mind during the process for surprises and unexpected twists.

Nyu-Kyung: When I write songs for the group we never know what to expect. We have a lot of great contributors to Urban Fu$e who help me take the songs in directions I would have never thought of by myself. There is always something new to do with every listen haha.

Suzanna: never the case. I'd start out with a basic melody and chord progressions on my piano. Then the same song goes through many revisions melodically and lyrically after a rough arrangement comes back. Most of the times, original lyrics and melody are scratched and new lyrics come up.

Micheal-P: I used to do my best to adapt my vibe in the song to bring something personal to wow listeners but I'm always surprised by what comes out at the end.

6. What is the main message behind Urban Fu$e, musically and the name as well?

We chose the name because of the multicultural fusion of our music, but also because we consider ourselves to be fuses in that we will spark the musical revolution that is to come. We have members come from Cameroon, Nigeria; US, Canada, England and Vietnam.

8. How easily do songs tend to come to you?

Micheal-P: easily and naturally

Dre Nathan: Songs come to me very easily.

Nyu-Kyung: Once I find a beat I like, the melody and flow cadences come immediately. As long as I am vibing with the sound, the ideas come easily

Suzanna: Not sure what the definition of "easily" is. If measured by time it comes fast in 15 minutes but the rewriting takes the longest amount of time for me. Sometimes days, weeks, months or even years. For example the Runaway song I wrote it back in 2015 and am still working on it now. So it's easy but not easy depending on how you look at it.

9. If you had a soundtrack to your life what song/songs would have to be on it?

Nyu-Kyung: Michael Jackson - Man In The Mirror, Ruth B. - Lost Boy, Bryson Tiller - Self Made, Lil Mosey - Noticed, Notorious B.I.G - Juicy, 2Pac - California Love

Micheal-P: Heal the world of Michael Jackson,

Dre Nathan: Cant Hold Us by Macklemore and Ryan lewis has to be there.

Suzanna: Let It Be by the Beatles and Man In the Mirror by Michael Jackson

10. For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words?

Dance beat, good vibes, dynamic, melodic, and transparent.

Dec 17, 2018 - Rebecca Cullen

Urban Fu$e are a unique five-piece consisted of members spanning across London, Nashville, San Francisco, Abuja and Nassau. Along with their multi-cultural approach to creativity comes a clearly eclectic string of influences – all of which combines professionally and enjoyably on this latest and seasonal offering.

Light Me Up is a song that feels like a number of different genres all at once. Rather than this resulting in something seemingly chaotic or overly layered though, it leads to a surprisingly well structured and melodically captivating new song. The opening moments are presented as pure and acoustic – there’s space, quiet, the leading voice has a softness yet carries the meandering melody flawlessly and with appreciable confidence and heart.

Then you get the drum-line, light still but adding an upbeat element of modern pop. Then there are the various sound effects and samples, the additional vocals, and the stop and start nature of the entire set-up. This is, by all accounts, much more of an experience – almost like a short play or musical – than a simple single.

As an introduction to Urban Fu$e, this song works its magic well. Complete with dashes of hip hop, classical and electronica alike, the piece essentially refuses to confine itself to a single or expected way of doing things. As much as this may seem like a risky way to be, Light Me Up absolutely shines all the more brightly for it.

A fine balance between professionalism, passion and creativity makes the song feel completely new but also easily memorable in the way that any lasting Christmas hit should be. It’s a beautiful sound, humble in some ways, skillfully crafted and written with a refreshing approach. A definite joy to discover this winter season.

In the times we are living in you can listen to whatever genre you like as there are hundreds of artists creating different music with powerful messages. Still, we can all agree that now hip hop music and house/RnB music are the two main genres that people listen to especially when out in the clubs. And this is a huge change if we would take the fact that in the 80s and 90s it was ABBA and Guns N Roses that were prevalent wherever you go.

Nowadays, there are certain artists who are trying to fuse a bit of everything and create what might be a genre for everyone’s likings. Yes, it is as hard as it sounds but Urban Fuseseems to be quite a good at it. What is Urban Fuse you might ask? Well, it is an uprising female music band that consists of five members all coming from different countries and with their unique styles. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? And they have already pumped out a few hit singles of their own.

Without further ado let’s go ahead and take a deeper look about what might be a revolutionizing music approach!

Source: Urban Fu$e

What Is Urban Fu$e About

Now, it is pretty clear where the band gets its name from – they are a fuse of five different cultures, and they try to fuse numerous genres in one song. They enjoy including everything – from hip hop and dance to K-Pop and Latin. The song is always accompanied by a strong beat and underlined with powerful and enchanting female voices. The five members are coming from San Francisco, California; London, England; Abuja, Nigeria; Nassau, Bahamas; and Nashville, Tennesee.

Their first Can’t Steal My Deal track very soon became a hit and people all over the world have listed it as a thing that they simply can’t stop replaying. It did well on Deezer and Spotify as well, and it was just an introduction on what is to come from this band. Very soon after the hit they come quite popular and started live performing as well. Now, the thing is they don’t want only to create fun and dance music but their goal is to spread a powerful message mostly residing on certain mass culture principles that we are all inflicted too. And their music videos are a story for itself.

Only a few months ago they have released a what we can call revolutionized song called Splurge.

What Is Splurge About

Well, Splurge has already become quite a hit in just a few months and is streaming on iTunes, Spotify, and Deezer. A song that basically makes fun of the fact that on the daily basis we are all told that we should make the best of everything and get all things no matter the price but no one talks about the process that stands behind it. Expensive things, and cars, but what about the fact that you have to work 12 hours a day each day for years in order to be even close to it? They focus on the clear disparity between the result and what effort you need to put in to achieve it. The hip hop rhythms accompanied by female vocals and underlined with strong bass are what makes this song so good!

Summary

It is safe to say Urban Fuse is just starting and we have much more to expect from them. This 5-member female band is on the road to becoming a first revolutionizing group that managed to combine more than 5 different genres fusing worldwide cultures in the process!
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/56346472019-02-08T20:51:35-06:002019-02-08T20:51:35-06:00ESSENTIALLY POP FEATURES URBAN FU$E

Urban Fu$e – ‘Splurge’

‘Splurge’ is the latest track from multi-national collaboration, Urban Fu$e. We first wrote about them back in October last year, with their song, ‘Can’t Steal My Deal‘.

‘Splurge’ is an electronic-based hip hop track, which talks about how the modern world suggests that we need to have the best of everything, but doesn’t explain about the hard work that has to go into it to get it. Our senses are assaulted everywhere we look: on TV, radio, print, other media, and online, everyone wanting us to spend spend spend, with not thought to how we should get the money for it. ‘Splurge’ is accompanied by a somewhat humorous music video, outlining the disparity between the luxurious life we’re after and the effort it takes to get there.

It’s an empowering song which works well combined with the simple instrumentals underlying the female only vocals. We’re reminded of the girlpower tracks of Little Mix, and Kesha, other strong women who are all about “sisters doing it for ourselves”. ‘Splurge’ is a catchy song which will have you hitting repeat more than once.

Urban Fu$e come from all over the world, with a diverse range of cultures, and a wide view on how they approach music. The eight member group, which has members in Abuja in Nigeria, Nassau in the Bahamas, Nashville Tennessee, and San Francisco, California in the US, and London, England, represent musical styles including hip-hop/rap, dance hall, V-pop, and Latin: what unites them is a strong dance beat, which is the hallmark of Urban Fu$e, no matter what genre.

Urban Fu$e chose the name not only because of the multicultural nature of their members and their music, but also because they consider themselves to be fuses; the spark for the musical revolution to come.

You can find Urban Fu$e online on their official website, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. ‘Splurge’ is available to stream and download from iTunes, SoundCloud, Amazon, Deezer, and Spotify.
Urban Fu$etag:urban-fuse.com,2005:Post/56346442019-02-08T20:45:09-06:002022-02-22T04:37:21-06:00FRESH OUT OF THE BOOTH FEATURES URBAN FU$E

Urban Fu$e are a five member musical collective whose membership and musical taste spans the globe.

With a name which reflects both the international fusion of the group as well as their musical stylings, Urban Fu$e are certainly a fuse in more ways than one. Their members come from Abuja, Nigeria; Nassau, Bahamas; Nashville, Tennessee; San Francisco, California; and London, England, while their music is a blend of hip/hop, rap, dance hall, K-Pop, and Latin. Their music is united with a strong dance beat, meaning that regardless of their different origins Urban Fu$e come together in perfect harmony – something the rest of the world could probably learn from.

The group chose the name not only because of the multicultural nature of their members and their music, but also because they consider themselves to be fuses; the spark for the musical revolution to come.

Urban Fu$e have recently released their first track, ‘Can’t Steal My Deal’. The song, which is just under four minutes long, has components of London Grime, Drum and Bass, Hip Hop and Dance Hall. The track is underpinned by a strong beat which, coalesces with the vocals of the band members, as well as other instrumentation.

Both opening and closing with menacing laughter, there’s a sort of threatening feeling to the song, which invites the listener to play it over and over. Listening closely, you can hear the individual styles of the artists; different voices stepping in to take the lead on verses – a true united nations of music.

Altogether ‘Can’t Steal My Deal’ is a very catchy track, and we hope to hear more
